QPR FC Women attacker Kasha Petit was recently speaking at the Sport, The Media and LGBTQ+ Inclusion event at Television Centre in White City.<\/strong><\/p>

Presented by BBC Pride, QPR FC and our Rainbow Rangers supporters' group, the event addressed issues and dialogues around LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport and the media.<\/p>

Petit spoke at the conference, which was hosted by Jack Murley - presenter of BBC's The LGBT Sport Podcast - and also included former pro swimmer Michael Gunning and fitness influencer Jake Williamson.<\/p>

The panel provided an interesting and thought-provoking discussion which was attended by members of other football clubs' LGBTQ+ supporter groups.<\/p>

Speaking about the event, Kasha told us: \u201cIt was great to see how engaged the audience were and the discussions that were going on either side of the panel.<\/p>

\u201cHearing the stories of both Michael and Jake also offered a different outlook as sport differs between the male and female environment.<\/p>

\u201cWomen\u2019s football has been quite an inclusive space and it was great to speak about how female athletes can be themselves more and come together through allyship with each other as a community.\u201d<\/p>

We also spoke with Jack Murley, who said: \u201cYou could feel the buzz in the room. To get people from the LGBTQ+ community, who have historically felt marginalised in sport and particularly football, together and having open, honest conversations is what it\u2019s all about.<\/p>

\u201cWe know historically, so many people felt they couldn\u2019t have these conversations, and to get through it in a safe and fun space where we can laugh and joke is what football needs more of in the future.\u201d<\/p>
